Two Thumbs Up

As some of you may have noticed I started putting up the movies we are watching on Netflix and the books I am currently reading over there on the right. I've thought about doing reviews here on the website but I never have much more to say than 'it was good', 'I liked it', or 'it wasn't any good'. We recently watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age. I liked the costumes and the story was interesting enough. It was definitely one of my movie picks. You can tell that it was one of my choices because the average American has heard of it. It's not some obscure Swedish movie that instigates an obsession for teardrop trailers.

Anyway, today we got Dan in Real Life. I put this on my queue when it was still in the theater, that's to say it is a highly anticipated movie in the Sickmiller household. We probably won't watch it until this weekend. I'll let you know how it is :-) If you're lucky it might even be as good as the Elizabeth review.

we get 'no country for old men' today. we are excited to watch it.

That one is currently number 8. Although things tend to stay down on our list because we find something new and then add it as number 1. We might see it in 8 weeks though.

We just watched Gone Baby Gone. It's REALLY good. It's intense. We also watched Harold and Maude, which may be one of my new favorite movies. It's from 1971, and it's all weird and twisted and darkly funny in an existential sort of way. We just got Into the Wild, which I hope to watch this weekend. And then we're going to start watching The Wire.

I'm not sure why you needed to know all of this.

ohh! we're getting into the wild soon. so excited. i've never seen any of the others. but i'm working on it. building my repertoire one movie at a time : )

Did you watch the first Elizabeth movie? I did while I was recouping (and on pain killers) and enjoyed it. What costumes!
